"THERE IS SOMETHING DELICIOUS about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you."
Beatrix Potter
I stumbled upon this quote that I like very much. I was also happy and surprised that I remembered that Beatrix Potter wrote The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Do you think Alex Trebek of Jeopardy is ready for me?
What I am most proud about is my newer habit of writing for a blog and keeping on a production schedule. One essay a week isn’t too bad, especially now that I get them down to less than 500 words. Who has the time for diatribes like an Op-Ed? Not many of us. I write for sheer pleasure and the joy it brings me.
Freedom is what I like about my own writer’s platform. No more English teachers prescribing the only way. They served a purpose at a point in time. And they tried. I work under Potter’s point - getting started on a piece and not knowing where a story will take you. Follow this path and it will pull you ahead. It is simply a law of the writing cosmos.
Let It be
by Lennon and McCartney
When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people Living in the world agree There will be an answer, let it be. For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be. Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, There will be an answer, let it be.
And when the night is cloudy There is still a light that shines on me Shine until tomorrow, let it be. I wake up to the sound of music Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, There will be an answer, let it be.
