VERY DRY CONDITIONS CONTINUE here in northern Michigan at the beginning of July.
Over the years I’ve watched the weather quite faithfully and with the potted annuals I tend to I can often go a week without supplemental water - not in 2023. I’m finding a day and a half is my maximum. It is just plain dry this year and hazy to boot. In the last six weeks, we have had only about an inch of rain during a two-day reprieve from the scorching sunshine. The lawns are mostly all dormant displaying their tan shades as proof of their lack of water.
The weather is great for sunbathing, swimming, and well-watered pots, as displayed in the above photo.
I intend to jump into the lake over the next few days to experience that chilly reminder that relief is all around us in the form of glorious Lake Michigan.
Happy 4th of July!
